Behind the design of our new flagship on England's Lane, Belsize Park.
The transformation of Sifali began with a vision to create a space that felt both familiar and entirely new. A place where architecture, materiality and hospitality could come together to reflect the way we want our guests to feel.
Working alongside interior designer Nnoro, the refurbishment was approached with an appreciation for the building's existing character. From the deep grey-blue exterior and brushed stainless steel signage to the architectural columns that honour its heritage, each detail was considered in relation to the space as a whole.
Inside, the original hardwood flooring was carefully sanded and varnished, revealing a natural warmth that would go on to inform the wider material palette. Rich wooden tones, bespoke shelving and an open glass balustrade create a sense of continuity throughout the interior.
At the centre of the space, a stone-finished column is surrounded by a custom modular table, designed to adapt to the changing needs of the studio. More than a place to wait, this area was envisioned as somewhere guests could sit, settle and take a moment for themselves.
The intention was always to create a sense of pause. A moment between arriving and beginning a treatment, or before returning to the outside world.
In this behind-the-scenes walkthrough, Nnoro shares the thinking behind the architectural details, materials and bespoke features that shaped the new Sifali.
An exploration of the process, the people and the details behind our new home.
